# Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the FoxClip macOS app and the foxpack.app/clip website.

## 1. The product

FoxClip is a native macOS screen recorder. Recording, click and cursor tracking, editing and export run on your device. There is no cloud rendering service, so no footage is uploaded to us.

## 2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use FoxClip.

- **Free** — free forever, no account and no card required. Record, auto-zoom, edit and export without limits; exports carry a small FoxClip watermark. Commercial use is allowed. A Free license covers one Mac.
- **Pro** — a one-time purchase ($69 founder price, $79 afterwards). It removes the export watermark, unlocks 4K 60fps export, and includes a license for 2 Macs plus 1 year of feature updates and priority support. Pro is not a subscription and never auto-renews.
- **Updates** — after the first year of Pro updates you may renew to keep receiving new feature versions. Renewing is optional: skipping it leaves the version you bought fully usable, and bug fixes and security updates continue.

Purchases are processed by our merchant of record, which handles payment, tax and license delivery under its own buyer terms.

## 3. What's yours

Your recordings, edits and exported videos are yours. We claim no ownership over your content, and we never receive a copy of it.

## 4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

- Record or distribute content you don't have the right to record or share
- Use FoxClip to break the law, including in jurisdictions that restrict recording of others
- Reverse engineer, resell, sublicense or redistribute the software
- Share a license key beyond the number of Macs your license covers
- Attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to our systems

You are responsible for complying with local laws on recording audio and video, and for obtaining consent from people you record.

## 5. Payments and refunds

Pro is a one-time payment. We offer a 14-day refund, no reason required — write to hi@foxpack.com with your order details. Refunds are issued to the original payment method by the merchant of record.

## 6. Support

Support is provided by email. Pro includes priority support; Free users are answered as time allows.

## 7. Privacy

Handling of data is described in our [Privacy Policy](/clip/privacy). Refunds: [Refunds](/clip/refunds). In short: capture and export stay local; only purchase, activation and support data reach us.

## 8. Disclaimer

The software is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose.

## 9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost recordings or lost data. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for FoxClip in the twelve months before the claim.

## 10. Termination

You may stop using FoxClip at any time. We may suspend licenses that violate these terms, including shared or resold license keys.

## 11. Changes

We may update these terms and the product. The date at the top shows the latest version; material changes will be noted in the changelog. Continuing to use FoxClip after an update means you accept the new terms.
